We provide care and support for men having psychiatric illness

Karunya Bhavan is a leading community-based psycho-social rehabilitation center established in 2002 as a shelter for homeless people with mental illnesses. Managed by the Malankara Catholic Diocese of Pathanamthitta, the institution currently provides treatment for 50 men with psychiatric illnesses from across India. Karunya Bhavan is registered under the Travancore-Cochen Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act XII of 1955 and the Board of Control for Orphanages and Charitable Homes, Kerala. It is also registered under the NGO Darpan Act as of 2021.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Unlocking a New Chapter of Hope

Admissions are accepted for residential care and treatment based on referrals from the Social Justice Department, Police, Panchayats, and other social activists, along with a psychiatrist's reference letter. All living facilities and psychiatric treatments are provided, with financial support through donations.

THE REHABILITATION TEAM

Revitalizing Lives with Compassionate Guidance

Our multidisciplinary team includes:
Mental Health Practitioners: Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Social Worker, Nurse, and Occupational Therapist.
Administration Wing: Catholic Priest (Director) and Nuns.
Supportive Wing: Nurse Assistant, Office Assistant Cum Accountant, Cook, and Security Personnel.
